Default Nvidia Is Preparing the “Most Amazing Thing” Ever Made – Mark Rein. - 09-21-2013, 05:43 | posts: 1,762

Quote:
Nvidia Corp. is readying something brand-new, but this is not exactly a graphics processing unit, according to a vice president of Epic Games. In the recent years the company most known for its GeForce graphics introduced a number of products beyond simple graphics chips, but it obviously takes something to impress Mark Rein.

“Earlier this week I saw the most amazing thing made by @Nvidia – no, it is not a GPU, but gamers will love it,” said Mark Rein in a post in his Twitter.

At present X-bit labs does not know what Nvidia is going to reveal in the coming weeks. What we do know is that an announcement in the coming weeks is coming.

In the recent years Nvidia introduced a number of products and technologies that did impress. Among the hardware things, the company launched Shiled video game console as well as Tegra Note media tablet this year. Previously, the company released a number of proprietary software-hardware technologies, such as 3D Vision, CUDA, PhysX and some others. All of them are aimed at gamers. For professionals, Nvidia unleashed an even higher number of other promising technologies during the same timeframe.

The Internet community is currently full of various speculations regarding the product Nvidia is going to announce. The forecasts mention a virtual reality helmet, a Steam Box game console designed in coalition with Valve, an incredible high-resolution stereo-3D display as well as many other things that a PC gamer might want. Obviously, this may just be Nvidia’s next-gen application processor for mobile devices that is projected to be pretty impressive.

Nvidia did not comment on the news-story.

Will it be even more amazing than Hybrid SLI? Cause that was pretty amazing according to Nvidia's PR team.

A working driver? That would be pretty amazing. I don't think I'd be able to handle that kind of excitement.

I also bet it will be nothing useful to us.

It will target some 'OTHER' market.

They already have US spending stupid money, why bother?

A ARM based desktop, armed with a powerful CPU (with a cooler into the limits) and GPU, running Windows RT or some sort of Linux. Its time to step in x86 territory (basically Intel) and have some competition, or, simply buy VIA and get the x86 license.

It will be another improved Most Amazing driver that will burn even more GPUs than before.

Nvidia have persuaded BIStudios to allow Arma3 to use cpu and gpu/s for the graphics....that would be nice....which incidentally is optimised for Nvidia cards....suposedly
