It would be nice if instead of making faster and more power hungry CPU's/GPU's for these mobile devices, they invested some of their R&D money into better battery technology. Fast phones are great but it sucks when you have to charge it 3 times a day.

They can't. It isn't their battery thus they don't own patent. And you know what happens when patents are in guestion....

Nivida Tegra 4 would be even better due single core which is responsible for preserving battery life. Yes, its quad core with 72 cuda cores, but when it's idle and not in use, the single core takes over - I forgot what it's called.

the ARM7v when in idle are too deconnected... they dont run.. each core can be loaded separately or idle separately. ( when a big power is needed, then the ARM A15 kick in )

The autonomy in idle is not a problem, its the autonomy when doing little task.

If you use a smartphone only for call, and the rest of time it is in idle, you will get an autonomy of 3-4 days. its for games, video recording, decoding/encoding, video playing etc, the autonomy is going down,

Seems like Samsung is flipping back and forth between ARM's Mali GPU technology and Imagination Technologies' PowerVR GPU technology for their SoCs. The SoC in Galaxy S4 (International) has a PowerVR GPU.

Can't wait to drive test this Exynos when it hits the market. It's a shame that they're barely in any devices, even the North American Samsung devices use Qualcomm SoCs instead of their own which really never made sense to me. Their SoCs are fully capable of using Qualcomm's radios, why not just stick to doing that? Many of the Qualcomm SoCs they use aren't the ones with integrated baseband radios anyways, so it really doesn't make much sense to me.

You'd have to prove to me that it's "better". The Snapdragon S4 pro was roughly equal to the Tegra 3 and it was much better imho. I have one of each device and the S4 skates circles around the Tegra 3 and the battery isn't too impressive either.

that cause they are no longer phones there more of pc in phone shape. Cell phones stoped being cell phones long ago, now more about what other things they do. over they actual phone. expect battery life to get worse on them while tech advances cpu.gpu wise battery have not changed and it starting to show when you have have charge your "phone" that is more of PC ever day if not more. laptops have huge battery in comparison and they lucky if they last 3 hours what you think happen in phone with little battery
