It remains to be an impressive one. Activision - Real-Time Character tech demo. This is the same source data from ICT used by Nvidia at GTC, but rendered using a completely different tech. ...

I still think they are ripping nvidia. I know its a work of art and everything is amazing and I give major props for it but I'm also very.. cross that extremely detail-oriented. The mouth is still horrible, its mainly just black and funny looking teeth. The eyes are another thing and the most focused on. They did great with the facials around the eye and its movements but 1 thing still makes it look dead to me is iris dilation, add that and I would say this damn thing would pass as real.

Very nice --- add some reddish color for the inside of the mouth instead of a black hole and I'd swear it was a real human. In fact, I think I bought a house from this guy a few years ago.

It is really impressive, ( well, yes and no, we have allready see this, specially for movies) but nothing will be possible without the DATA and motion capture technology developped by ICT ( Institute for Creative Technologies (University of Southern California ).

I feel a bit bad for the guys of ICT, this is there work who bring this possible.

Must be tech demo week. Pretty, but also pretty pointless. Crytek have been doing this since the early days of Crysis.

There is even another tech demo out there that has a bunch of fancy man faces that was shown all over then net about 2 years ago using the cryengine 1 or 2.

This guy would do well as the compere on a UK game show, judging by the dead expression in his eyes.

If it's really a tech demo from activision, Call of Duty games will look like that well into the 2030's

Unless they incorporate some nerve sensors/brain trickery in a VR, nothing can replace the real thing so far ... *get my drift*

looks like we're not quite there yet... very good work, we've managed to animate a still from the 8800 GTX tech demo back in 2006-2007 quite realisticly.
A few key areas I think would make a better product:
The mourh area: If you look closely there's a harsh contrast between the lips and the shadow created by the opening of the mouth. The teeth didn't seem quite realistic, maybe a little less reflection, I didn't know you could implant a carwash inside your mouth!
Maybe get the biometrics a little more accurately?

From a guy that doesn't know any better that only likes to see things go for the better,
