I'm no mathematician, and it's great that it can spot a tennis ball traveling mach 3 at 25 km, but even if it spotted said tennis ball at 25 km I'm pretty sure at mach 3 it's too late for it to do anything about it. It would be to the ship in about 1.17 seconds.

That's why Britain and the other members of the Eurofighter team never went with stealth tech.
It's pretty useless. I read somewhere that they hope to get this tech to 100+ Km. It's best usage atm is in line with goalkeeper systems to shoot down Exocet type anti-ship missiles. What ever happens in the future we never again want another HMS Sheffield. |
