sense they are shutting down, does that mean there mp servers are shutting down too?

Gamespy was run into the ground a long time ago, I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. A shame to see it go, though. Seems like its been around forever. I used to like reading the VS stuff and comics they put out. Flintlocke was brilliant.

It was designed to be an open multiplayer framework any developer could use, iirc. Unfortunately, these days every developer/studio wants to use a proprietary multiplayer service.

Gamespy as of last two years did the best PC reviews, console comparisons and port reviews.

Looks like a large amount of people missed out on the best PC centric review website.

Great shame to see them close, I have practically no where to get proper PC perspective reviews anymore.
