I will probally pick up a few copies as long as I can host my own server without having to USE dayz servers currently (mod version) u cant run a Dayz Server in a Offline Lan Environment and when u run online u get theyre server lag causing issues anyways....
Off Topic:Time to extract the PBO first day I get it and introduce those all enterable houses into ARma 2 default don't care if its not allowed really tired of towns in arma more aless being random square boxes that just block your fire instead of being an actual urban environment

Yup, I foresee many naked bandits, and squads who just flat-out refuse to wear pants. Terminator-like scenarios are sure to play out: "Give me your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle."
Actually that video shows quite a bit on further viewing:
More enterable buildings. The house they looted is not enterable in the mod.
Cluttured, filthy, "lived-in" interiors, whereas the mod's are sterile and empty.
New lighting system - interiors are now dark and forboding, as they should be.
Volumetric clouds and blue skies.
Simplified gear acquisition i.e. one-button bean snatching - a hugely welcome improvement.
I'm sure Rocket's keeping plenty (inventory UI etc.) close to his vest to keep Sergey from cribbing even more of his ideas. I love the mod as it is. As these ideas are implemented, things will only get better. I'm stoked!

Hehe, I felt the same way when I saw the video. So far only minor tweaks, imo no real new gameplay features has been shown since the mod came out in april last year.

Rocket has stated they will be following the Minecraft model, releasing the game in a basic but solid state, and adding features regularly, and that early adopters will get the game "cheap".
$15-$20 has been bandied about, but that's mostly speculation.

yeah video doesn't really show of much also their supposed to be a new video uploaded every Monday as regularly thing. i iam likening the swamp part, also some of features that are going to be in standalone are already been put in latest dayz mod patches, also i like how they added utes as a separate island you can get to from cherno, also dayzbuzz have a sign up page, where u can add your name to a waiting list, which may get into closed beta for game, not sure how likely that is but worth a shot for nothing. http://n4g.com/news/1152850/dayz-sta...g-waiting-list

Although i really like the idea of a DayZ standalone game i have to admit theres not much 'gameplay' in this gameplay video :p
Its ok for me as i'm a ArmA2 vet, but when i show this to others they seem to fall asleep after 2 mins.
The devs really need to think about their video making skills.

To be fair it's a devblog update telling us how progress on dayz is going. It's not meant to be an entertaining gameplay trailer. This is really for people who follow dayz and are interested in its progress, not really for advertising imo.
Although as someone who does play dayz a lot I did enjoy it.

I already play DayZ sans pants. I find it adds to the immersion, plus it keeps the zombies from catching my scent.

I hope you dont need a separate key for every single action like with Arma... Those guys have serious issues with UI/user input design.

Source?
I've seen and heard countless interviews. I've got my ear to the forum and devblog and have heard nothing of a change of plans...other than the fact that the end-of-year release date was unrealistic once they decided to make major changes in the client/server relationship and gut the engine to suit the game.
Regarding War Z, Rocket said the whole Steam debacle made him depressed, and he seriously considered quitting the business due to their unethical business practices, and the public (including some in his own family) mistakenly associating that turd with his own game, and Sergey's actions with his own.
He has stated for quite some time that after the "foundation" release (another term Sergey stole for the WarZ; thus tainting it forever), his team is committed to a year of updates to implement all the features they have in mind. Please point me in the direction of any changes to this plan, as I've not seen them.
