EA's MoH series is put to bed by EA after Warfighter fails to deliver...

Electronic Arts has pushed its Medal of Honor franchise out of its yearly shooter rotation after the poor showing last year's Medal of Honor: Warfighter gave.

Speaking on the company's financial briefing call earlier today, EA COO Peter Moore neatly ducked any responsibility for Warfighter's performance. ""The game was solid, but the focus on combat authenticity did not resonate with consumers," Moore said. "Critics were polarized and gave the game scores which were, frankly, lower than it deserved."

No mention of a future revival of the series was made, though Moore also noted that the publisher "[has] a plan to bring year-over-year continuity to our shooter offerings."

Setting aside the mass hallucinations that seized critics and gamers alike and threw off their perceptions of Warfighter's quality – obviously, that's the only explanation for the universal disdain for that title's glitchy multiplayer and uninspired solo campaign.

Didn't bother with Warfighter personally but really enjoyed MoH both on and offline.

The title does not matter, its the people who made it what ruined it in the first place.
obviously also the reason why allied assault was such a big hit (with steven spielberg at controls).

I say good riddance but what killed the Medal of Honor series was a string of poor quality games and the fact that they played no different from the other ten million military shooters out there. The original Allied Assault game and the expansion were pretty damn excellent for their time but then first person shooters based around WWII and other military conflicts were fresh then not something you could say this days. The FPS genre is actually one of my least favourite types these days and I try to avoid them as much as possible unless they're something different like BioShock Infinite, Dishonored and suchlike, games where I'm not just shooting things until I go braindead!

I really enjoyed Dishonored, played it for 4-5 days in arrow to the end.

Why exactly did you post this as "Medal of Honor Franchise is No More"? It states that it is no longer being made every other year, it literally states nothing about if there will be another one, but that doesn't mean there won't be another one, simply: for now, no new games are in the works under the medal of honor name

Personally I would like another WW2 game. I'm tired of all the modern crap.

Although I really hope they don't try to remake Allied Assault. They will no doubt ruin it.

Battlefield Bad Company 3 could be such a great game. Personally i was gutted when i heard that battlefield 3 wasn't a follow on of bad company 2.

But the fact that MoH is done saddens me , i remember playing the d day landing on the original medal of honor and it was so good. EA killed Moh, Shame it wont go back to WW2 because i really prefer it over modern warfare.

MOH should either go back to it's roots in WW2, or even try out WW1. Has there ever been a good WW1 FPS game ??

The WW2 themed MoH and CoD games were epic, for me both lost all the flair and quality when they turned modern warfare. For me, a WW2 (MoH or BF it doesn't matter) game with frostbyte engine would be the BOMB right now... but, it looks like it doesn't sell well while modern warfare is EVERYWHERE.

Wouldn't be surprised if all the games cause violence stuff had done some damage to the franchise, and since it bombed why not put it on hold for a while.

I skipped Warfighter as MOH 2010 was one of the worst shooters i had played for years, well until BF3 arrived anyway, but i hear they went for the deadly serious style that ruined the previous game so not surprised it didn't do well.

I still loved Airborne though, last good war shooter in my opinion.

have you looked into enemy Front and Heros and Generals? ive been playing the H&G's beta and it shows promise!

No I haven't. I'm holding off on FPS's until Bioshock and Aliens comes out.

Though this ea rep is a dreamer if he thinks the game deserved a better score than what is got.

What annoys me most about this industry is the constant push for authenticity, other than gfx, projectile and other physics along with sounds etc, authenticity can lick these. If a gamer whats to know the trials and tribulations of a real soldier, then they can get up off their arse and go join the army, lose some friends, a couple of limbs then enjoy the authenticity of post traumatic stress disorder when/if they get home. Personally i feel that other than when deciding to pull or to pull the trigger (sorry i meant squeeze, trying to stay authentic here), the personall side is no thumbstick/M&k warriors business.
