Default 310.70 fps issue gtx680 SLI - 12-19-2012, 09:29 | posts: 21

hello

so let me start by saying these new drivers (310.70) were really disappointing for my GTX 680 sli.

in notes it said:

Up to 16% in Battlefield 3 on bf3...well where is the 16% ???

i mostly (99%) of the time play BF3 and i usually get around 80ish to 150ish FPS on ultra and 2xmsaa depending on map some times the fps dips to 60ish.

today i installed the new drivers and the fps were horriable places when i used to get 130+ fps im getting 50 fps....its laggy and unplayable...both cards should around 60 to 70 % usage and the game was choppy.

should i downgrade back to 306.97 ?? what should i do please guide me.

thanks

Try 301.42 WHQL, it seems to be the best BF3 driver.

It gives me 10FPS more than any other driver and I have about 15& higher GPU usage.

Also using a frame rate limiter has helped quite a bit.

Instead of V-Sync I set my FPS max to 120 (for 120Hz monitor) in Nvidia Inspector. It's much smoother now...

When I used any form of v-sync the game would stutter and without it the would look just as bad.

You're welcome

You can only have one installed, if you want to use the other you will need to uninstall the one you're currently using.

After doing so you will need to restart.

Once you are back into windows install the one you want and do the following.

Select advanced.

Then select clean install

Those things which u did with nV Inspector are not needed. You can do that with the help of command line by creating *.cfg file in BF3 folder where you can type in the commands you wish to set up ur BF3 correctly

2nd the tricks with nV Inspector and EVGA Precision. This will help u to solve temperatur throttling and fps decreasing. Your cards will work on boost clocks

you don't need it! You will use a command line from the game

GameTime.MaxVariableFps - the second link which I gave you. It's the same what nv Inspector does but it's primary from the game (or just make a user.cfg file and write down there command lines you want!

next do the steps as I gave u from EVGA forum. This holds ur boost clocks @max so you won't get so stuttery gameplay!

Hey There. I have a question,

Are you running SLI? Did you get better performance with those drivers for all your games and not just BF3?

I ask this very important question because i am not pleased with version 310.70 either as my frame rate in the witcher 2 every now and then will get cut in half for no reason and extreme stuttering will occur. Places in the game that were 60+FPS are now at a constant 45-50FPS and it never improves untill i exit the game and restart it.

Also, Every time any game tries to access my SSD to load data for example when quick saving in-game, i get a quick but terrible drop in frame rate and a quick stutter for a very quick moment. I never used to get this with Version 304.79 for example. I started to get these problems once i upgraded from 304.79 to 306 and above. It seems like Nvidia never bothered to solve these issues.

Please help
