Calm, Relaxing & Soothing Music - What Would You Gurus Recommend? -
11-26-2012, 05:25
| posts: 5,761 | Location: Dubai, UAE / London, UK
I haven't had sleep in 3 days, not even feeling tired. Working 9 hours 5 days a week.
Perhaps some relaxing music will help me sleep peacefully instead of listening to other cars outside.
What would you recommend? I've heard a few songs of Enigma which are really nice, something like that should help me relax & have a good night's sleep.
Although I'm not feeling tired I've got a slight headache from insufficient sleep.
Any help will be appreciated fellow gurus.

This helps me.
AIR
Miles Davis
Beethoven
I like the mellow stuff, jazzy and classical. The low lying bass line does it for me on the AIR track.
Sometimes the sound of my fan helps too.

Thanks guys.
@Mr_ALLroy, I too sleep with a fan, not only does it get a bit stuffy but the sound of the fan helps you sleep.

Have some hard liquor when you get home. If you can't sleep, at least try to close your eyes for an hour or so. Or eat so much that you have food coma.

Lol, we only have guiness at home.
It's been like this for almost 2 years since moving to Dubai, it's fucckking HOT!
Even now in the winter time it's almost 30 degrees & humid.
We have air conditioning at home obviously but it's on a timer & is off most of the time, thanks to my mother. She suffers from asthma & is ALWAYS cold!
Unfortunately the air conditioning controls all rooms & when it's turned off it's off for everyone, I don't have my own dedicated control...
I use a fan as mentioned above but it doesn't cut it meaning it can get hot & stuffy at night making it harder to sleep.

Lol. I've tried various drinks including Camomile tea, did not help. Once even tried Diapazem, did'nt work. Hell Valium didn't even WORK!
About that horse tranquilizer, where do you get them from?
I WISH my mum or Dad happened to be a doctor, would make life far easier.
I'd simply ask them to inject me to force me to sleep otherwise drug me with Chloroform!

This If that doesn't work then this.
If that doesn't work then melatonin and warm milk.
I could go on for pages about how a persons diet and habits can make all the difference but if you've been up for 3 days without the use of stimulants of any kind it'd probably be best to see a doctor so he can tell you.

Lol, I don't think the youtube video's will help do much but bore me.
As for melatonin & warm milk, tried it & did not see any benefit.
As for seeing a doctor it's pointless here in Dubai as they won't help you.
Most medicines that help you sleep/calm down are banned.
I have indeed seen the doctor several times over the year and I've gotten nowhere. There are several medicines I've recently ordered which should hopefully help me fall asleep.
The only medicine available in the pharmacy is Atarax 25mg, meant to make you drowsy & sleep. The recommended dosage is 1-2 pills.
Despite taking 4 it did jack $hit...
They do say different medicines work different for different people. Some medicine works great for person A but for person B he finds it to be of no help.
Looks like I have to try several brands of sleeping/relaxing pills till I see which one actually works, may improve my life.
Even if I do manage to fall asleep, it will be for no more than 2-4 hours, waking up in the middle of the night is guaranteed & I've been waking up between 1:30-4:400 in the morning despite being in bed by 11:30 or so.
Quality of sleep is $hit and very light, not deep sleep.
I'm actually surprised I'm still alive & have not yet collapsed due to lack of sleep.
Annoyingly I seem to be MORE tired during the day & LESS tired at night.
At night is when I need to sleep since I need to be up by 7:20 to get ready for work.

The Verve's album 'A Storm in Heaven' has some wonderfully relaxing songs... I listen to it as I fall asleep often. Even the 'fast' tunes are very relaxing. Turns out the whole album is on Youtube? Dang... worth purchasing.

That sucks man. I wish I knew of a way to help...
I do have to commend you for being able to function at all after 3 days without sleep. If I don't get at least 5 hours of sleep I'm a zombie the entire next day and if I stay up for 3 days I'm practically dead, cognitively speaking. You've got a hell of a lot of determination.

With regards to smoking weed here in Dubai, you get 3+ years in prison if your caught. Even buying it is difficult...

before anything, you should see a doctor.
/
during spanish summers i suffer greatly of lack of sleep.
i was born and raised in N Europe, cold is my best friend when i want to sleep like a rock.
tricks i used to get some good hours of sleep.
bought a ¨helmet¨ wich inside is stuffed, padded with a gel than can be cooled or warmed ,head and brain was cooler than the rest if the body, slept like a baby.
problem is that this helmet is hand made so i doubt than you can find something similar.
What can you do-buy this and add some cosmetic pads inside, the ones ladies keep in the freezer then apply on the eyes area. You catch my drift.
Yes.it is funny as hell go sleep with that ,but gave me back my sleep.Hell,if it not helps, atleast you can think cool.
