All Links Are Now Updated ATI Catalyst 12.10 Legacy Performance Driver -

If you are currently experiencing problems with these drivers, Opencl may be the culprit. Please uninstall or avoid installing the Opencl drivers if you are experiencing any problem. I will Re-Upload all drivers with Opencl support from the Previous Legacy driver at a later date.
These drivers were created to address performance and stability issues. All drivers were tested with games such as Mafia 2, Prototype 2, Saints Row the Third and several other games.
Installation Guide
1.Download
2.Extract
3.Launch the setup.exe
4.Install the drivers normally.
Ati Catalyst 12.10 Legacy x32 Bit Driver
Windows 7 32bit and Vista users
http://www.mediafire.com/?qy4uni2u8lw6j8z
Windows 8 32 bit
http://www.mediafire.com/?p913fpzpf4quz0c
This driver should not be used in any other operating other than windows 8 because it will break windows performance index.
Ati Catalyst 12.10 Legacy x64 Bit Drivers
Still working on them but you can check about the Beta drivers for Windows 7
and Windows vista Users.
BETA Drivers
Ati Catalyst 12.10 x64 Bit Beta Drivers
For Windows 7 and Vista
This driver was tested in an x64 bit environment and is confirmed to install
and run as intended. However overclocking has not been tested.

This is great what you are doing, but how does this driver differ from what this guy is doing?
Tis nice to have another modder in the works though.

This driver allows you to install ATI Catalyst Normally including all apps. There should also be better performance but its kinda hard to judge since every ATI cards differ.

Well that is interesting. Would you be keen at some stage on writing up an explanation on how to mod ATI drivers? as some people aren't aware yet that it's not just as simple as adding your own hardware id's.
Would really help out the community.
Also, your link for x64 needs updating, I am getting 'wrong IP'.

Yeah, he copied the wrong link into the OP. Rather than the generic one, it's the direct link which creates a hash that only works for his IP (or for a limited time or whatever).

ok tried to test that driver...
unfortunately i dont get it to install correctly in win7 64bit for my 4890.
After setup it wants me to restart for proper driver installation. A restart results in messed up drivers.
any idea?

If I remember right 4xxx series card dont support DX11, so I dont know what you are talking about. Direct3D games work, but they dont offer any improvement over 12.6 legacy, theres no point of installing this set, if I wanted to run older Direct3d libraries I would simply install some older drivers.

sorry I meant the DX10 driver which games use as DX11. Then tell me what the newer Direct3d driver offers that the old ones does not. If it offers something significant then i will try my best to include it.

Diablo 3 for example doesnt benefit at all from old libraries, the performance improvements came with the 12.7 drivers and forward.

I don't know, that's something that only ATI can decide. However I hope they do develop another official driver to iron out performance issues and bugs presented by the current legacy drivers experienced by some users.

dellon132 my friend you did a PERFECT job with the latest update.
driver works perfectly. performance is as good as the older legacy drivers.
thanks and waiting for more ;O)
tested on win7 64bit + ati 4890 overclocked at MAX (bios oc)
games tested:
- the war z
- war inc
- arma 2
- the hunter
solid performance. no crashes, no flickering no whatever...
P.S: is it possible for you to show us how to modify the ati drivers?
What do we have to do if we want to install the ati 12.11beta for example?
Is there a tutorial available?
Thanks &
regards
p.
