Some companies have been using Atoms in NAS' for a while now. Still, nice to see them get a performance boost.

Get a HP Microserver, much more flexible and cheaper than most half decent NAS'. I have three of them.

How would that connect to my router, via the ethernet jack or usb? I'm using a Netgear WNDR4500 which has usb ports on it as well. One last thing, which has better data transfer, ethernet or usb?

USB 3.0 is much faster than gigabit ethernet. USB 2.0 is slower.

USB isn't used for networking so like all home NAS'/Servers it uses Ethernet.
