I have a 660 ti and everything was working fine for the first week or so, then a few days ago I noticed that it was suddenly running at 100% even when no GPU heavy programs were running. I've discovered that disabling and reenabling it in device manager seems to fix it temporarily but then it happens every single time I start my computer then randomly every once in a while too. I've tried uninstalling the drivers, wiping them completely, and reinstalling but that doesn't help. I also looked into doing a system restore but I don't have any restores available from before it started happening. Any other ideas why this might be happening and/or how I could fix it? Thanks in advance for any help.

I had the same problem. MSI 660ti PE. This also happened on my 460m back in the day. Only quick fix was a re-install of the driver but after reboot, back to 99%

I went through a selective startup process and found something interesting. I had 2 Java update programs. One with an "Unknown" manufacturer called "Java Update". The other from the legit Sun Microsystems / Oracle.

c:\programfiles\java\java.exe

Looking further it was a program from "INRIA, France Telecom". Its some kind of computing research organization and it was probably using my GPU cycles.
So some kind of malware I don't know how I got. Deleted it from startup and on the hard drive (Not sure how much further I should go).

Everything works fine now. Hope this helps.
