Cpu is definitely holding that card back. Here's a run off my other rig using a 1090T @ 4.2GHz and 580 Classified Ultra @ 1030Mhz.

Best I've pushed with my current setup and my 965 is 6500 points, and that was with everything just about melting it was OCd to its limit and took about 3 runs to get one that didn't bluescreen

Just did a run with my 965 @ 3850MHz and 2 x 6850s @ stock speeds and got just over 6000 points

How are you overclocking your 965 ? You giving it enough juice ?

Ive done it thru the FSB and the multiplier and giving the cpu small voltage increments...It bsods on me as soon as the pc comes under stress.

Doesn't sound right for a BE chip, they are unlocked and designed for OCing unless you got a bad chip, although I have a 6850 GPU that does exactly the same thing, 1MHz over stock and bsod

How much vcore and OC did you give it ?

Remember that OCing the FSB = Overclocking everything, not just the CPU, it overclocks the RAM too and obviously the chipset

If you want to just OC the CPU, just use the multiplier

I am stable @ 3850MHz using 225MHz FSB and x17 multi @ 1.45vore

Can run 24/7 @ 4.1GHz but not stable for heavy loads

My system is a bit more stable if I just do the multiplier and I can get it to 3.8ghz but once I start to play BF3 I get BSOD within a minute.

I havent OCd my video card, and as far as voltage goes on my CPU I go up as high a 1.475 v. Im not comfortable going any higher than that for obvious reasons.
I know BF3 isnt a fan of an OCd CPU..Im not sure why.

Look at the GRAPHICS score, that is the gpu.

The CPU is not holding his card back - you guys just aren't reading the benchmark correctly.

PhazeDelta and the Op have nearly identical results.

OP 3d mark 11 score is affected by his cpu, I beat his p score easily with a slower 580.

That's because the Physics score is included in the total.
Physics is done by the CPU, and both you and Hilbert have much faster CPU's than our Phenom's.

If you wanna know just the GPU score then look at the graphics result.

This was my best ever 3DMark11 score with my CPU just above 3.8GHz and 2 x GPU @ 940/1100 iirc

With my GPUs @ Stock speeds, my score drops ALOT, like 1.5k points from the GPU score

CPU about the same speed

HAHA.

Yeah the CPU is, however the NB is prone to tantrums if pushed past 2850. I leave it at 2800 for 24/7 use with 0.145v offset (1.245v real).

Btw pay no attention to the vcore - it dropped for a split second as I took the screenshot. It requires 1.48v loaded for 4.4Ghz and that's about as high vcore as I'm willing to go.

24/7 clocks though are 4.3Ghz 1.452v unloaded, LLC set to high which gives it 1.464v loaded.

What settings are you using?

Yeah well I get inferiority complex these days in this section due to my scores.

It's like walking into a shower room full of guys with 12" peckers when I only have a 3" peepee. You don't really wanna whip it out....
