So I am torn between these two cards. I am not sure what one would be the best one to get for my new build. I am not a ATI or NVIDIA fan boy so that does not mater to me. I want to stay in the 300 dollar range. Both cards seem evenly matched so I am looking for real life reviews.

Both are solid and will handle a single monitor just fine.
I give the edge to the 7950, more ram is plus too.

As a GTX 660 Ti owner, I can definitely recommend it. Getting Borderlands 2 included in the purchase just makes it even better. The HD 7950 is a little bit faster though. The 7950 pulls ahead at 2560 x 1600. At ultra high res, I would suggest an HD 7950. At 1080P though, either card is a good buy. Both cards are essentially the same speed at 1080P. However, Nvidia currently has better drivers. Both cards are a great buy. I decided to go Nvidia though after returning my HD 7870. Like many, I was suffering from the random black screen issues. Had I not suffered from black screens with my HD 7870, and I was choosing between a HD 7950 and GTX 660 Ti, I would get the HD 7950.

Look at which card performs best in the games YOU want to play. Then look at prices. Either way you can't go wrong!
