A friend wants to upgrade his 7800GTX with a budget of £100, advice please -

As the title says A friend has got an ancient 7 series Nvidia card and wants to play some Guid Wars 2 but his upgrade budget is 50 to 100 notes. He doesn't mind 2nd hand so I was thinking about finding him a used 280GTX or a 460 maybe?
Anyone care to weight in with a suggestion AMD/NVIDIA is all good.
Thanks

If your friend can squeeze in another $50, Id recommend looking on ebay for a used 560ti.

The 460 is a good buy and a huge upgrade over what he has.

kinda answered those in the op but he is happy with either the green or red team, he's also somewhat resigned to having to go second hand given his budget.
what would be better bang for buck AMD 7770 or a GTX 460?

Any idea what your friend’s system specs are, CPU, MB, PSU, etc? Just out of curiosity...
285, 460, 7770 would be nice upgrades for a low cost. 560ti if he can swing it.

Its for a mate from work so I haven't got the exact specs. I think its quite a modest system, core2duo, I need him to find out what his PSU can handle.
I'll pass on to him the suggestions given, just wanted to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything obvious.
Cheers

I found a "grade B" 6850 for him for £74.99 from overclockers but he decided to listen to someone else and got a 550Ti for around £90 I think he said. I think he had AMD fear..
Thanks for the suggestions

Your friend is dumb, i´m sorry to say this. The hd6850 is way better than a gtx 550 ti.

I wouldn't trust anything from overclockers with a "grade B" tag...

I did try an explain that the 6870 easily beat the 550Ti, even sent him benchmarks! but some people won't be told.. Ebuyer had 1 ex display model for 84 quid but still no dice. He seems pretty happy with his purchase so I'm not going to argue with him..
