Default Furmark won't use Crossfire, please help... - 09-16-2012, 06:41 | posts: 9

Hello everyone,

I am trying to test some overclocks of my graphics cards with Furmark, but it will only use one card in my Crossfire setup. Only GPU 1 is being used (99%) while the other one sits idle.

What do I have to do to enable Crossfire support and utilize both GPUs in Furmark?

I already tried to rename furmark to etqw.exe but this doesn't appear to do anything. I got that tip from another website, but still I see one GPU being used at 99% while the other is at 0%.

Please help me. I really want to see were I can find a stable overclock for my ATI cards.

In case you need to know, here is my system:

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Intel Core i7 920 overclocked to 4.4Ghz
128gb OCZ Agility 4 Solid State Hard Drive
2 500GB HDDs
2x Radeon 5850 cards in crossfire
12gb Mushkin DDR3 at 2000mhz
EVGA Classified3 x58 motherboard
1kw Pc Power and Cooling PSU

I use the MSI Kombustor ( who is basically the same of Furmark distributed with MSI Afterburner ).

Be sure to check "Full screen" under "settings".

Stable in Furmark, doesn't mean stable in games. Furmark is OpenGL....so, unless most of your games are also OpenGL, it's rather pointless to use Furmark to determine stability.

Couldn't agree more.

@ OP

If you want to test for stability, loop Heaven 3.0 in extreme mode for about an hour or so. Make sure Tessellation, AA, and AF are maxed.

As the software is detected, tdp will be limited in Furmark, Kombustor. so effectively, its not the best way of testing stability.
