I hate you, and your insanely fast internet.
Why? Well.... I was just so happy with my recent connection upgrade where I now have a 30/5mbit connection. Then you come along and
LoL. I hope Google brings their giga-band internet to SoCal.

Man they really went the whole way.
I mean the mod is filled with ambient sounds, more than the original if i remember correctly.
And the crossbow! Anyone noticed that on the scope you actually see what is infront of it instead of just a reflection from an environment map?

So far so good, the flares at the start are a bit off, why would a facility that is located deep underground have flares, I dunno but then I suppose they are just as logical as a crow bar. Speaking of which the crow bar just doesn't feel right, it's like you barely swing it, really kinda weird.
The NPCs timing is a bit off, by that I mean you walk past a person and your half way down the corridor before they talk to you, you walk in to a room, look at the NPC then turn round and walk away and then they start talking and finally I some how managed to get stuck in a door.
It's the one just after the explosion, it opens a little way then you see an on fire half infected body crawling towards you. I stepped back in to the door way and the door closed pinning me in place and refused to open again.
So minor glitches, nothing game breaking by any means, my memory of HL is hazy but I am certain they have changed and tweaked some of the level design.

If not d'loaded from steam, does it work with the steam installation of HL?
Also, does it work on Blue Shift, and Opposing Force?

It simply requires the source SDK to be installed first. This can be done through the tools section of steam or will be done automatically after Black Mesa's installation. Though, access to source SDK files may require a source based game be installed or available in your steam games list. There are some free source based games like Team Fortress 2, in case you do not have any in your list.
Ps.
Game is fantastic

Yes it works with your Steam installation but you don't use Steam to download the game. You can get it from a torrent or from just about any gaming website and its free. Here is the Black Mesa website you can get the game from. http://release.blackmesasource.com/ .

Yeap, in fact it is worth exploring because they have changed some stuff so even if you know the layout by heart, you'll find it rewarding in a sense.
I feel as if this one is a tiny bit harder and i liked it.
There is even an achievement if you find a different route for a particular level.
