I'm tempted to put money into it, I've enjoyed every Obsidian game I've played. I love isometric RPG's. First time I've seen a company 'this' big on Kickstarter, it'll be interesting to watch.

This thing looks mighty epic, though I'm not a fan of party based RPGs (hate to micromanage party stats, equipment, tactics, etc), but I can enjoy them if they're good (ie, DAO).

The only game of theirs I didn't care for was Alpha Protocol. After reading what they plan to do with this game, they will definitely get my money for this project.

The project is already at $975000+
With all the extra money they get, I hope for great modding support, coop singleplayer, lots of attention to detail and HQ art and obviously a bug-free gameplay experience considering no greedy publishers are on their asses.

I also like how they are making a franchise out of it. If they pull this off well, which I am sure they will, people will throw money even faster and for a higher budget PE2. I am thinking too much, too far

I hope other good big name developers also follow suits with their good ideas on Kickstarter.

Finally I can actually vote with my wallet.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan? I heard that Obsidian were in talks about making a game based on the world the series is in, but had problems with funding or something. If so I'm even more excited, I'm a huge fan of the books.

This game sounds great, I used to love the BG series and Icewind Dale. Nearly at 1.8mil now, this is the first game I have backed on kickstarter!
