Default Afterburner Video Files Gone? Help! - 09-14-2012, 16:34 | posts: 2

Well, just started using Afterburner to record today, and I made a folder in the directory of Afterburner and set all my video files to store there. Went on to try Afterburner on Bf3, and I remember it saying that it was 50 gigs of footage, however it did not save in my directory and I cannot find it anywhere (there's 50 gigs less on my hard drive, so it has to be SOMEWHERE). Help! Where did my footage go, and if it's gone, how can I delete these phantom files that are taking up 50 gigs?

Also, video files save properly on my desktop.

Your files are in
"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Pr ogram Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner" (add whatever directory you created)

Program Files is write protected to prevent normal programs from altering your software installed there.

If a normal program (a program without administrator privileges) tries to write to Program Files (or any subdirectory of it), Windows redirects the writes to VirtualStore. This is done to ensure compatibility with older programs that may assume they have the right to write to Program Files.

You really shouldn't write your video files under Program Files, anyway. Instead create a subdirectory for MSI Afterburner under "My Videos".

Oh! Many thanks! I wasn't aware of this at all. I was recording to a folder within Program Files because I'm used to Fraps doing that. ;p Thanks again! Saved me a lot of work.
