Default RAM speed: Is there something wrong? - 08-01-2012, 16:15 | posts: 52 | Location: Singapore

Hey guys, I run a 2GBx3 Kingston HyperX DDR3 1333MHz RAM on my system. But Speecy shows otherwise.... It shows them running on 533.

Is that normal? I'm not sure how one goes about determining if the ram is running properly or not. Any help is appreciated!

Just because your ram supports 1333mhz doesn't mean it's configured to run at those speeds.

Take your speed, and double it.
You're memory is actually running at 1066mhz. Still a bit low.

Go into your bios, and reconfigure your memory so it'll run at 1333. I don't know how your bios is set up so i can't give you step by step.

Spam DEL when starting your PC
And goto the "MB Intelligent Tweaker" menu.
From there you can change enter the advance DRAM options.
You'll have to use a bit of common sense from there.

I built 2 computers using asus x58 sabertooth motherboards.

I had to go into the bios and manually set the ram speed to the proper 1600.
(DDR3-1600 Patriot)

I suspect, you will have to do the same thing.
