Man I can't wait! I hate this stupid sound issues I have with the HDMI audio. If it doesn't get fixed, I might give in and get a sound card. It's killing me having to pop up a youtube video in the background to listen to music or even watch a movie.

I tried this driver again it's just no good for me.

Yes I disabled flash hardware acceleration, but firefox's screen STILL goes black, and if I refresh the browser, it goes black immediately after I scroll or click on a link etc. It actually crashed it a few times. I sent Mozilla the crash dump, and told them exactly what was going on. Let's hope they pay attention to it, as I'm not alone with this issue.

Not only this, but it will turn black just sitting idle while playing BF3, and THAT is what made my cards go into 2D clocks.

So, while I noticed no better improvements performance wise over the 12.7 beta's, I'll just stick with the 12.7's for now.

No bro, this is a mobile driver modded for all cards.

12.8 might be 8.982.1 or something, but it wont be the same driver.

There is no such thing as "driver only for mobile" the driver itself is universal the infs and other stuff dictates what can be installed and on which cards.
This one has specific things for the 7970M but also some if not all the goods from the upcoming 12.8 like the skyrim hud fix, xsplit crash fix and so on...

ok, perhaps i was a bit too simplistic, i had assumed people knew there would be a packaging change.

I will resate:

this code branch will most likely be 12.8

ie no significant changes.

The original INF was for mobile devices only, thus why I said what I did.

there is no mobile driver. they are all the same.

No I didn't miss his point. I said what I did because these were originally inserted with only Mobile chips. I understand what he says fully. I understood this way before anybody here mentioned it.

All desktop cards were added later to this INF. I understand fully that the driver will work on all GPU's with a modded INF.

This is a leaked driver, not official, thus why it originally only had mobile devices in the INF.

EDIT I said all desktop cards, I meant 5-7 series.

These drivers causes Skyrim to freeze and crash and does the same with Firefox. I reverted back to 12.7beta.

The only thing that has worked for me is to flash my three 7970 references to the GHz Edition BIOS.

Yeah I flashed mine that day the BIOS was found around the net.

12.7 beta is working perfect, so I don't really care at this point.

I just tried this set since I could, and to give feedback.

Thanks, Driver Sweeper cleaned it all up for me and the install was successful.

Not only that...I definitely see a performance increase while playing The Secret World.

Unfortunately, Crossfire support still sucks. Font corruption and flickering boxes abound!

Have you installed 12.7 cap 2? The Secret World should be fixed with it

I'm here to report that its not fixed entirely. Text flicker is still a problem in Crossfire, and performance is still sub-par. It IS better than before, but still needs work done.

I must admit this is the best driver so far for my 7970.

BF3 is very smooth on Ultra on all maps.

No crashes, no glitches nothing!

First real driver since I bought this card in januari.
