That's not the fix for it. Tried it, but found I already had the files in there from when I added them initially. Still happens when forcing low-level API detection. Task manager shows executable doing nothing, RP logo turns to the red circle and that's it.
I might try tinkering with atimgpud.dll in the RP folder, see if that holds the key.

So this drivers suppose to work on Win8? Can't get them working...
I have a 6850 card and the only stable driver which runs fine on WIn8 is an official one from AMD.
When I install this (or any other driver including official driver for Win8) I get an error during the installation, smth like this "Application Install: Install package failure" (tried to use driversweeper and ATIMAN uninstaller - didn't help), but the driver itself installs fine. And when I go in game (doesn't matter which game) - after a few secs my screen just freezes and after 30sec or so I get an error that N game has crashed.
Tried overclock/underclock - didn't help.
Gonna update my Win8 Consumer Preview to Release Preview. Maybe it will solve the issue...

The security fix isn't the latest version of the c++ runtimes. I don't know why they use such an old version of the runtimes. Wonder how soon they'll switch to VS2012 when it is released...

I tried these earlier but I'm having an issue with the CCC (the issue also happens in the official betas); the video quality and colour settings do not save. for example if I disable (uncheck) edge enhancement and then restart, it will be turned on again. is anyone else experiencing this, and is it something the OP can fix?

Installed these on Windows 8, but CCC is not working for me.
Ran installation of 9.00 to install the CCC from there, but showed current version was same or newer. So I uninstalled the CCC from this one and reinstalled using the 9.00 included ones, but sadly CCC is still not working.
Catalyst Control Center cannot be started.
There are currently no settings that can be configured using the Catalyst Control Center.
Guess I'll go back to 9.00
**Edit:
Got this working now. Ran 9.00 installation on top of current 8.982 install and updated the available packages (display drivers, APK and HDMI) and restarted. Then it started working.
After that, used computer management to install these (8.982) display drivers.
So now running all 9.00, but 8.982 display drivers.
