Windows 7 Wireless USB adapter problem -

Hi.
So, I bought a TP-Link WN7200N usb adapter for my desktop (so I could retire my eee from being used as a router ).
First I tried with Windows 7 default drivers, but I had "limited connectivity" so I proceeded to install the drivers in the CD.
All went fine, then tried again to connect to my home network, "limited connectivity" again, so this time I tried with the tools that came in the CD, the same thing happens again.
The connection is WPA2-PSK, AES. Setting it up manually doesn't works either. It has DHCP enabled cuz i'm not the only one using the network.
And this is the funny part. Yesterday I connected the LAN cable from my eee to my desktop, to share the connection, and THEN the usb adapter started to work fine for no apparent reason. And right now it happened again, I connected my eee, started to write this thing, enabled the wireless adapter, and it started to work fine again (after an hour of messing with it).
I just don't know what is going on. When its not working I have some weird ass IP (162. something) instead of the 192.168.x.xx that the DHCP server should be handing, the default gateway is missing, and no packets are received. The automatic troubleshooting doesn't works at all and the damned Network Center is as useful as wet toilet paper. And when it isnt working, if I try to connect to the good ol' neighbor wifi connection that has no password, it has limited connectivity too.
In my eee the usb adapter works fine, so its not defective, though I'm using Debian on it (Win7 is giving me more issues than linux lol).
