It's possibly a fake (although you would see 'issues' with performance and probably with stability), or maybe it's a part that has been stolen and subsequently re-labelled?

In any case, it definitely should not be like that so something fishy is up.

Paper has an autoignition temperature well over what a CPU could get to, it wont burn.

I think he meant if the house burnt down it would get burnt and the OP should remove it to protect the sticker those circumstances.

On a serious note, my chip 100% didn't have that either.

Sometimes people mark their stock like this if it is not sitting in a box... it is common if the CPU came from eBay or something. Sometimes they write on it with a Sharpie too to label them... nothing to be concerned about.

Definitely remove that sticker, its shouldn't be there in the first place.

Imo it was done on purpose so they could get more money later, I mean no pro PC store would have overlooked such a thing when building it together..

Im also surprised it worked fine for so long and no contact issues.

Just remove the sticker. Looks like put in there accidently maybe you bought a second hand CPU or someone from the store put it on there.

Question:
whats the most important part of the cpu?
is it the one in the middle or the one on the sides?

Somethings seems to me to be wrong here.

Go to Intel and show them your pics, make sure to take clear pics of the serial numbers and the CPU as well as the box it came in.
