Default Asus CUII 7970 dual monitor HELP! - 07-18-2012, 08:26 | posts: 1

gday ladies and gentlemen

my name is kenny, and i'm new to the forums,

started to get into the computer scene again a few weeks back, and everything now seems so different! (used to work with DDR ram and old 32 bit processors and VGA ports only)

i've rescently acquired an Asus 7970 CUIItop edition brand new at a very good price.

my previous card was a GTX295, plugged in both my mnonitors to it and it worked flawlessly, since now ive upgraded to the 7970, only ONE of the monitors come up (thats with my monitors connected to the video card with VGA-DVi adaptors)

did abit of research and i needed a active display port adaptor thing,
bought one and connected it

now, my main display lights up and works fine, but the secondary screen doesnt light up and says NO SIGNAL. but in display properties etc, it says the name of my monitor and a 2nd screen picutre yet there is no signal on the monitor itself!

am i doing something wrong? if something wrong with my card?
my monitors are VGA ported ONLY (old viewsonic VA2413wm)
and both are running VGA cable with Dvi ADAPTORs

someone help please

kenny

The DP adapter probably only converts to DVI digital signal and not to a VGA one. Kind of like trying to run a HDMI > DVI > VGA, won't work either.
