Default Battlefield 4...coming soon...already? - 07-14-2012, 08:37 | posts: 2,372 | Location: SA

Pre-ordering Medal of Honor: Warfighter on Origin will gain buyers access to the Battlefield 4 beta, according to an advertisement on EA's digital distribution service. This is interesting considering EA and DICE have yet to make a Battlefield 4 announcement of any kind, and because Battlefield 3 downloadable content will continue until March 2013.

Clicking through the pre-order button yields no additional information about Battlefield 4, nor does the official Battlefield website.

While EA hasn't actually announced Battlefield 4, the idea of a sequel is hardly a surprise for the Battlefield series. Battlefield 3 continues to sell well and more than 800,000 people have signed up for Battlefield Premium.

Rumors of new Battlefield games have been swirling for some time now. Electronic Arts president Frank Gibeau confirmed Battlefield 4 in an off-handed comment last year, and Battlefield Bad Company 3 appeared on an employee resume recently. In addition, a retailer listed a title called Battlefield Evolved back in March.

We've reached out to EA about Battlefield 4 and will update with any comment we receive.

It doesn't say when the beta will be never mind when bf4 will be released could be another 2 years away. Also bf4 could easily be a place holder name for bf2143 (fingers crossed)

Probably takes some time before it comes, and we all knew a new BF game would come eventually, but I had still preferred if all DLC for BF3 was released before we got to know about this

Maybe they want to copy CoD's annual release cycle Count on this one to be WW2 combat and its sequel to be 100 years in the future spawning more spin offs and alternate realities

I want a Korea and Vietnam game in the same. It spans the time from Korea to Vietnam in the same game. They're both not used in single player campaigns whatsoever practically.

I want one based on aliens or some type of monster.

BF3 left a bad taste in many gamers. They should worry in improving the game instead.

I want a game with proper hit detection, A game that doesn't have floating hit boxes that sit no where near the target you are aiming at on screen and a game that doesn't determine the winner by who has the crappiest ping.

Conquest doesn't show up the flaws so badly but I've recently started playing team death match rounds on a 64 player server and the speed of this game type shows up just how badly the items above effect this game.

Nice work EA...
Releases +100$ games, and they are buggy and unfinished and can't deal with cheaters.
EA: Buuuhu pirates and steam sales hurts business...

I'm still sure alot of gamers will embrace it. If not, they just have to slap some DX12 features in there

I definitely know not to get a Battlefield game from day one now however

And the single player will be three hours long, completely scripted to occasional (broken) QTE and boring, dull, cliche' war themes.

That's a pretty good Ad IMO.

I was half tempted to pre-order just for BF4 access. Also realised that won't be till I forget that I even had it then probably not be in to it in 2 years time or when ever it comes out.

You shouldn't be buying battlefield for the single player, if you are, then that's your fault, the fact they even bother on single player at all is surprising
