Default Excel mail merge to pdf to email - possible? - 07-12-2012, 14:38 | posts: 3,376 | Location: Old Europe

Hi All,

this is a bit of a left-field query. I regularly mail merge letters from information contained in a spreadsheet. This letter is then saved in pdf under a standard naming convention "location_first_last name_date".pdf. This pdf is then emailed to the recipient and cc'd to a group of people who are also in the spreadsheet.

I would like to automatize this process. Does anybody know a system (cheap and cheerful is OK) that can do all of it or parts of it?

Many thanks!

In case somebody comes by and hopes to find an answer, I actually found a solution. Two great little plug-ins from Graham Mayor, MS Excel guru galore (Gmayor.com) will do this nicely (including the pdf-to email bit):

http://www.gmayor.com/individual_merge_letters.htm

or if this does not work because your merge is too complex, use

http://www.gmayor.com/ManyToOne.htm

The plug-ins come free of charge, but you can donate via paypal. Well worth a little donation in my book, the advice he offers on his website is priceless!
