Default No 3D Vision with latest drivers - 07-06-2012, 09:44 | posts: 33 | Location: Germany, Salzgitter (Braunschweig)

Hi,
yesterday I installed my new MSI 680 GTX TwinFozr III OC and the latest Nvidia driver 304.79. Everything is fine, but I cannot activate my 3D Vision. A window opens and says that (excuse for my translation):

3D vision wizard stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop
Windows will look in the internet to find a solution
or
close the program

I uninstalled the driver, installed the new one again, the same
I uninstalled the driver and went back one step, the same

I had exactly the same problem some days ago, when I had my old graphic cards ( 2 x GTX285 in SLI mode) and installed the 304.48 over the older 301.xx. The 301.xx were ok, 3d Vision worked fine, only the frame rates were a bit too low.

And there is another problem: If I uninstall one driver and restart the computer, my hardware assistant is searching for 10 minutes and more for drivers and I cannot install another one, because Nvidia setup stoops with the message that hardware assistant is running. How can I stop this. I didn't find a file that I can stop.

Thanks in advance
Rolf

* Disable automatic driver downloads:
- Start menu -> Right click Computer -> Properties -> Advanced System Settings (top left) -> Hardware -> Windows Update Drivers Settings -> Select "Never check for drivers when I connect a device." -> OK -> Apply -> OK
Then uninstall again, reboot, point window driver detection install thing to nvidia folder.

Nothing helped, back to latest WHQL 301.42, and 3D is back!
