Talking Possible to clean up extra trash from downloads? - 06-18-2012, 05:33 | posts: 55

I love this site and have for many years. Would it be possible to simplify downloads by having a obvious "download" button that applies only to the program that is being looked at?
For example, I tried to download SiSoft Sandra, an excellent program. I clicked the download button next to the download page, which would seem obvious. Instead of downloading SiSoft, it went to some sort of download manager I didn't want. This program also offered to change my home page and install some sort of toolbar. Even though I selected "not" to download the toolbar, it did anyway. It also tried to install the download manager, which had nothing to do with SiSoft. I think if you are reading about a program, and wish to download it, it should not be some sort of IQ test to figure out if you are downloading what you want or some kind of garbage files.
I scrolled to the very bottom of the page and downloaded Sandra, but it shouldn't be so hard or misleading (all the way to the bottom of the page it listed "download" and only by very carefully reading did I manage to find the advertised program).
Please help us, Obi-Wan!

Got me too. I've got the program so I just used the SiSoft site to update.
Just for giggles, I tried the download from here and nothing out of the ordinary occurred.
