Default 2500K OC with new Corsair H80 Liquid Cooling Unit!! - 05-28-2012, 05:30 | posts: 1,946 | Location: Long Island

Hey guys I now upgraded my system from my Cooler Master Hyper 212+ aftermarket cooler to a new Corsair H80 Liquid Cooling System. My system has been at 4.5Ghz and running very smooth. It idles in low 30's and hits around 60c under torture testing in p95. Could I possibly get it any higher maybe 4.7? Would it damage my system to turn my vcore upto around 1.45v or so if the cooling is right?

My motherboard is a Gigabyte UD3H-B3 Z68X, i5 2500k and Corsair H80 Liquid Cooling System. My vcore is about 1.32v LLC Level 5.

It depends, if your temps allow it you can safely put 1.45v on it.
Max is 1.5v 24/7 or 72°C under load.
Whichever comes first, then you have reached the maximum with your current cooling setup

In my opinion: 4.5Ghz@1.32v is not bad, but needing 1.45v for 4.7Ghz is less.. (so + 0.13v for only 200mhz). I'd leave it at 4.5Ghz then.

If you want better results you will have to get a real watercooling setup ;-)

Ran P95 all night @ 4.6 Ghz, and Vcore around 1.45V everything ran fine, no errors over 5 hours worth. Temps didn't even reach 70c. 69c on one of the cores highest.

i run my 2500k on 4.5ghz @ 1.31v with D14.
i need 1.4v for stable 4.8 if i remember right (or it was 1.42 dunno..)
with 2x f12 fans on, max core temp is around 50°C in p95 blend... dunno for 4.8ghz since i used stock fans when i tested that oc.. i think it was around 70°C max
