I installed and ran BF3 last nite for the first time, and played through the first two missions - and I did get an unusual stutter point:

cut scenes.

It really did surprise me when playing the game and it just stopping dead for a few frames, before/whilst loading the animated bit.

Playing the game however is butter smooth - no issues.

How the **** are you guys playing games with v-sync on anyways?

It's like telling someone to press the buttons for you. Input lag is horrible and hardly a trade off for screen tearing or micro stuttering. Get a 120FPS monitor or limit your FPS to 59 and stop hating FFS.

At least Nvidia responded to it's customers about the issue. AMD don't even know what customer support means when it comes to drivers. Hence why I've ordered a GTX 690.

hehehe

The last ATI card I ever owned was the X800XT PE...which was a great card. And the one I had before that was the 9800 Pro flashed to an XT...another great card. Was top notch in DX9.

True, I had the X850XT PE. A real beast of a card! After that I went to the X1900XT, that's when the "display driver stopped responding" errors occured multiple times each day. Even after an RMA (got a X1950XT back), I still had these errors. Until I hear less complaints about their driver support, I'm sticking with green.

You seriously don't get screen tearing at all? without V-sync?

I'd like to see these videos if you have them on Youtube and where did you get "white lines" from?

Try disabling the high definition audio controller included with the card. Go under device manager/system and find the high definition audio device that's on PCI bus 1 (or whatever matches the bus your card is on) and disable it.

Yep, high definition audio controllers they stick on vid cards are generally bunk. Disabling them seems to fix a bunch of problems, red or green.
