If this is the same kind of wacked out fun that SR3 is, then it's a definitely on my list to get.

Would be nice, not many dev's make fun games these days, too many take things to serious.
Whether it appears, depends on if THQ are still around, they are bleeding money these days.

Saints Row 4 on next gen consoles by August?
Quote:
According to a tweet from the firm’s Aubrey Norris: “Dear Media: You’re going to want to be at PAX East this year. If not, you’re going to be missing out on something HUGE. Just FYI!”
Lots of poking and prodding from her followers yielded nothing; however, a tweet from Chris Stockman, who was design director on Saints Row 1 and is currently lead designer at Human Head, tweeted he’s heard “around the campfire” that the game is slated for current-gen consoles in August.

Visually similar and the same wackiness of 3. Should be great! I hope the PC performance is good out of the box.

Well I think it's the same engine since the expansion for Saints Row 3 got delayed and was turned into this full sequel instead.

Looks great lol, I'm glad they seem to keep the feeling of the Third. I never played the first 2 games but I loved the Thrid. So much **** going on, not to mention the insane character customization, I spent hours in warderobes/plastic surgery/car modding.
Oh, and it had boobs, bouncing boobs. (I used a nude mod)

I hope that it contains little more content than the vanilla SR3 did on release... also those side missions, they should find a better way to tie them into the game world because the whole SR3 felt like bunch of mini games patched in. Fun mini games sure, but they felt so disconnected from each other.

SR3 IMO wasn't as good as SR2, they dropped the balance between being fun and ridiculous. I hope they get back to where it was in SR4.

Thing I liked less about SR3 was the serious lack of interiors and real cribs.
SR2 had many cribs throughout the city complete with customizable interiors.
There were also a lot of other buildings like the airport, police station, shopping mall and others that were complete with interiors.
Also always felt that SR2's city felt much more realistic as it had outskirts and suburbs as well as trailer parks and what not.
SR3's city just feels so "packed" by comparison.

The devs would like you to fill in the following survey...
Quote:
|
“Now, we have been toying with a lot of ideas, but we want you, the Saints Row community, to vote on what YOU want in a Collector’s Edition. So here’s your chance to let us know!”

I really enjoyed 3, the over the top insanity really appealed to me, 4 seems to be twelve shades more so, can't wait, though I may wait till a complete edition if they go nuts with dlc like 3 did.

Preview.
Quote:
...
You're playing as the President of the United States of America, who's now head of the Saints as they deal with an invasion by the Zen, an alien force that's stepped straight from B-movie heaven or B-movie hell - it all depends on what side of bed you've got out of.
It only gets more ridiculous. Steelport's skies are thick with the invading forces, and you've got access to their weaponry - weaponry which can, for the first time in the series, be completely customised. There's a gun that inflates people's heads until they reach cartoon-like proportions and beyond, ending up in a sweet little pop as they explode. There's a dubstep gun that fires wobbly bass at passers by until they expire in a fit of either agony or ecstasy.
And it gets more ridiculous yet. You now have superpowers, allowing you to sprint through the world faster than a jetfighter, while you can also take to the skies and leap entire buildings. You've access to telekinesis, allowing you to hurl civilians and vehicles around like unwanted toys, and you can freeze enemies with a quick burst of your blast power. It's all a little like an unhinged version of inFamous.
In fact, it's all a little like an unhinged version of Saints Row, which is no small feat in itself. Saints Row: The Third saw the series find itself and establish itself as an unashamedly ludicrous open-world game, the perfect antidote to the more po-faced expanses built by Rockstar and Ubisoft Montreal.
Volition don't seem to be particularly concerned by Saints Row 4's proximity to that other big open world game coming out this year - Deep Silver's game will be releasing in late August, a mere matter of weeks before the launch of Grand Theft Auto 5. Catching a few minutes of Saints Row 4 in action, you can see why no-one at Volition's losing any sleep over it - they're all too busy having fun.

They got some balls for having such over-the-top plot on AAA (or close to anyway) budget games. And that's a great thing!
I mean what was the last game that let you kick ass as a president... Metal Wolf Chaos?
