Hey, so for the last few days i have been having random freezes 1-2 times a day no matter what the comp is doing as long as it uses the gpu (even firefox or watching video can cause it) and i get graphics artifacts over the screen. 70% of the time the graphics driver would recover and it would be fine so i thought my GTX 560 Ti was toast. I just removed it and put in my ancient 7900 GT but now when i open games it doesn't freeze the system but they either have artifacts or the screen goes black but ctrl alt delete still gets me out of it or the game has heavy stuttering till the game seems to freeze.

I have tried different drivers and i have tried resetting my bios settings to all stock but nothing seems to help. I don't have another decent psu to test really, the best i have is a 6+ year old one with 27 amps on 12v rail.

Strange find, i put the 7900 GT in the lowest PCI-E 4x slot and theres no issues in games. I bet my GTX 560 Ti would be fine in that slot too, i will throw it in now to start testing..

edit: 8x slot also works, looks like a borked motheboard?

Well it looks like my computer is unstable with my GTX 560 Ti in the 8x slot, it just froze up again while surfing the net. Does this look like its the graphics card or the motherboard now? I find it 100x harder to pinpoint problems without my 2nd rig here, i can't get it back for a couple of days at least ><..

My phones camera is crap but i took these pics when it froze.
