It doesn't work with any current drivers. The features that "Coolbits" used to enable were removed from the drivers several years ago. To get overclocking functions in the nV control panel you have to download and install nVidia System Tools...

You will need to use older drivers.
Instead use System Tools. http://www.nvidia.com/object/nvidia-...08-driver.html
Or obviously something better like Afterburner.

EDIT: Was beaten to the punch. ^

Think you'd have to go back to GF7 era to find a driver that coolbits works for. Those features were removed when nVidia did the last major overhaul of their Control Panel.

Just install Afterburner or nVidia System Tools. That's the only way you're going to get those features.

Yeah, use After Burner or Precision tool.
Coolbits is dead, LONG gone.

The last time I used coolbits was when I owned a Geforce 3! Use nv inspector or msi afterburner.

You can enable Coolbits by adding
Option "Coolbits" "1"
to
/etc/X11/xorg.conf

I am unable to get overclocking options available on my GTX 590 (driver 295.49 on Arch Linux). I can only get fan controls by using "Coolbits" "5". It used to work on ubuntu with older NVIDIA cards.

I think that the op is not on Linux though.
