Default HD 6850 Stuttering problem - 05-03-2012, 17:05 | posts: 1

Hello,

I would just like to ask if anyone knows if HD 6850's have a problem with DX9?

The problem i have is that many games then run DX9 Stutter/Jump the graphics very often when i am playing.

I am only guessing this is a problem related to DX9 is because recently was playing LOTRO in DX9 and it Stuttered like crazy every couple of seconds. The instant i set the game into DX11 mode, the game ran smoothly and didn't stutter the graphics at all.

Another game that run perfectly fine on max setting is Crisis 2, which i think also uses DX11.

But when playing Dragon Age 2, i think this game runs in DX9, the game does the stuttering in the graphics every so often (not quite a bad as LOTRO but is still annoying).

I am running on the latest ATI drivers and have the latest DX drivers, so i am stunned to thinking that could be the problem when playing curtain games and the graphics stutter but in others it works perfectly and appears to be DX related.

I have a 6870. Don't get any problems with dx9 or 11.

But what drivers are you using, could also be settings in games and control panel.

What is the rest of your system.

cpu
mb
ram

etc.
