Since 1st using EADM (now Origin) and Steam, i've had more issues with Steam. And each and every time i've dealt with support on both, EA has been a lot more helpful and a heck of a lot faster.

Origin will never change other than to get worse. Example, popup advertising.

I have to disagree, have you tried the offline mode?, that was a great change for the better.
I did put the popup adverts into my comment to have a disable option though .

ok how's this. ea should work hard on improving their image so i will actually trust them and use origin in the first place. as it stands i will never use origin, because i dont like ea's business practices and dont trust them enough to by digital from them.

I concur regarding Steam support, it sucks to have your games spread out on multiple services
I also guess that EA got a really bad start with Origin, when we read about how people on their forums got banned, not even being allowed to play single player...Origin looking at the other programs you have doesn't really improve their image either
I don't use Origin yet(only interested in BF3, and I won't get that until all DLC is included) but I don't have anything against it(yet)...Competition is usually good, it just becomes a chore when games are divided between services
These are no news, but Valve ain't really about charity and welfare with Steam either

Simple really, get your standards back up and stop releasing buggy rubbish that ruins otherwise good franchises. When problems arise actually get the teams to release patches more quickly to fix deal-breaking problems instead of quickly moving onto dlc and sequels. If you carry on releasing crap you will go under no matter how important you think you are.

I’ve had many issues with Steam, but since I used to be a massive Valve fan I buried my head in the sand and ignored them, but it eventually built up and I will no longer buy any games that need Steamworks until they fix the buggy and/or idiotic way the software updates itself and the games.
Didn’t help that customer support took 8 days to tell me to go online so I can go offline.
Unlike most I will judge things on the present and not the past where EA were awful and Valve were great, as nowadays EA are trying to improve, while Valve know they don’t have to bother as people will blindly still use their software no matter how poor it is.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that Origin is so SLOW. I mean it takes forever to launch. If you want to remove games (in my case BF3 Alpha & Beta) you have to edit an INI file. I mean, what the hell? I want to sort my games by "Installed and ready to Play" but does Origin remember that when I turn off my computer? NO!
I do not have Origin on auto start and when I launch Battlelog to play BF3 Origin launches and remembers my credentials - so far so good, but if I want to manually start Origin to play Crysis 2 it sometimes remembers my password and sometimes not even though I was sure to tick the "remember my sh*t" box.
When I want to install a new game I want to check the disk space...oh wait, that's not possible EITHER. So, where do I sign the petition to either force EA to rewrite that piece of crap software or simply discontinue it?

The games are linked to your e-mail/EA account, very handy feature if you lose the DVD, which is what happened to my GF when her HDD failed on her laptop and she couldn't find the discs for most of her Sims games.
Logged into Origin and they were all there to download, and none of them needed Origin running after you've downloaded them either.

Right now in its current state, it feels like an unwanted and useless program. My other problem is whenever I launch the program, my computer freezes for twenty seconds, then goes back to turning on origin. Does this with every time I launch it.

I'm not against Origin.
I'm against how EA handle it.
Competition is a good thing. And other services striving to do what STEAM does is also a good thing.
But, the thing is, Valve didn't sit on their thumbs and leave STEAM in a beta state for almost two years with minimal updates or improvements.
They worked constantly to improve the service, add and tweak the interface, story, user's accounts and how we handle them.
Also, Valve handles the STEAM store in house. Where as EA (not sure if they still do) had outsourced the store to another company which lead to countless issues of double and triple billing, people not getting what they paid for and some still trying to fight with EA to get proper access to their games.
If EA want Origin to actually be "competitive" with STEAM, they need to take steps to actually improve the service. From it's user interface, to how it functions... it's features and abilities.... everything.
The only positive I can think of for Origin is that download speeds are fast. But, I get faster speeds from STEAM.
Offline mode I can't comment on as I don't use Offline mode on either service. But, when I did use it for STEAM in years past... I had zero issues getting it to work.
And as for customer support... again, I've had better, quicker and more accurate assistance from STEAM/Valve. Responding in the same day and resolving the issue in one case within hours, and in another case... over night.
With Origin... contacting EA's support took me days to get a response, and took even longer to get any kind of resolution from them.
And still to this day, I have an issue that has yet to be resolved as the "service rep" continues to sidestep the issue.
Origin has potential, but it needs to actually be focused on. EA can't just throw it out and blindly expect it to instantly overthrow STEAM and make them gods of digital distribution.
They need to put some time and effort into it, which are the two things they don't seem willing to want to do.

Well, that's...exactly what this thread is all about.
It's about EA trying to get input from users for them to improve Origin.
I think it's better for you to actually put all of those suggestions on the reply section of the article from the link in the first post.
From what I've read so far, EA/Origin staffers do reply back on proper and civil feedback/suggestions.
