Really dumb move from British ISPs. There's obviously a lot of ass-kissing, Hollywood pressured Sweden's anti-piracy bureau to take action in the past and are probably the ones pushing for these kinds of policies to begin with.
Overall it really is a dumb move, because it doesn't solve anything other than restrict the users just that much more.

It's not UK ISPs vs The Pirates, its the courts.
The ISPs HAVE to comply with the order.

What method are they using to block?
Surely just changing to Google DNS would unblock?...

They're blocking at the IP level, you need a proxy to get around it.

BE are just awesome, best ISP in the UK, imo. It's true they're owned by o2, but they operate as a separate company and have a more lenient Fair Usage Policy.
I just wish they offered fibre, I wouldn't have to think twice about signing up.

Not everyone can afford to pay $60 or more to try out software. It would be unfortunate for them if Pirate Bay went away.

Pirate Bay is just one of 74747584834 torrent websites, this doesn't change anything, besides, there's already ways to bypass it easily.

Internet piracy is here to stay.
Accept it.
Embrace it.
Adapt your business model to compete against it, or die fighting it.
It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives.
It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.
