Default Display is blurred since driver update - 04-29-2012, 11:59 | posts: 4

I have been having some issues with my display after installing the latest NVIDIA drivers on my PC.

My initial issue was that I couldnt go full screen after the update ( the screen had a black border). I have remedied that by doing a clean install of the drivers. I can now adjust the size of my desktop to fit the screen in the NVIDIA control panel.

My issue now is that at the resolution I want to use, the display seems blurred. The same resolution on the previous set of drivers was clear. I would just roll back to the previous drivers but the clean install means I cant do this.

Anyone provide any assistance?

Check that you have enabled FXAA in the Global profile. That's the only thing I can think of that might cause the blurring you're seeing, especially as it is a new feature added to the 300 series drivers. It is disabled by default though.

Thanks for the reply. There doesnt seem to be a setting for FXAA.

The drivers I downloaded were 296.10

My guess would be it's not doing it full screen still and is just stretching the image and giving you blur. Happened when i plugged my 8800GT into my TV's hdmi port and had make it full screen in the driver like you. Go back to your older drivers that just worked if you can. GL!

Is it just in full screen or in desktop also? It may sound stupid, but what is your default refresh rate? On some displays when refresh rate is below 60Hz it looks blurry. Or if supported go with highest available (turn on hide modes...).

I too had that blurring with Windows Live Messenger 2011 with the 301.25 driver update. Turned off FXAA in the Global settings, and that fixed it.

i have that blurring with a lot of r300 and r301 drivers, such as 301.24, all the text and fonts are a little washed out everywhere. and fsaa is off
rolling back to 300.83 fixed it for me....

i run 150dpi, maybe that has something to do with it
