Default 680 sli directx crashes with bf3 - 04-27-2012, 12:18 | posts: 225 | Location: Spain

Hi, i have two evga, one normal 680 flashed to sc and another evga 680 sc.

Temps are fine, never go high 65º, mhz are both boosted to 1189, same bios.Default boost.

I dont have the directx error with other game (not yet at least), im with the latest dx and with 301.10 drivers.

Directx function "getdeviceremovedreason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG Device Hung due to badly formed commands.Gpu "nvidia gforce gtx680", driver 30110

Before the crash i have to reboot my computer.

Is a sli problem with the game? any fix?

Not all cards are created equal.
You have to find max overclock for each card and set your clocks accordingly to avoid the DX error.Or just lower your overclock until crash stops.

My 680 SLI has one good card and one so so card.
Good card can run 1300+core and mem 3465
So so card runs 1191 core and 3465 mem

If the so so card goes higher then 1191 core it crashes with DX error.

So Its not a BF3 thing for me,its just what the cards can run at.
Heres a screen how I can run my cards without DX error.I run precicion x with sync off and set clocks as shown

Thanks guys, setting both to 1180 (-10 offset) stop dx crash for me, evga 680 sc cards are 1189 boost, maybe i can go a bit higher near 1189 (stock), but 9mhz is unnapreciable, and errors stop happening.

Btw what is the best driver for sli 680 with bf3? 301.24? or the whlq?

296.10 doesn't support GTX680. You need R300 series drivers for GTX680.

BF3 is the only game that crashes for me at sc boost clocks.
