I'm a bit annoyed with the life of Win7 as latest OS.
I have to have the newest OS, goes with the territory.

Same, I'll be waiting for an OS that has a sane interface or if the performance increase in 8 is noteworthy I'll wait for a GUI mod to make it look and function like Windows 7.

I don't know if the people who complain that much about metro had even used it. At first it is the more strange you ever used, but a little time after, you just realize how much better and faster it is!!!

Windows 8 is great and allready with latest patch you can have your beloved start menu with ease. Personally I think ne1 saying windows 8 sucks is cuz you have not used the latest builds nor gave it a chance.

As long as you can have the start button and classic desktop back I'm fine with it.

That goes double for me. In the previous windows 8 previews it really annoyed me that i had to navigate through more menus just to get to my control panel and Programs/Feature

I haven't used Metro but I can guess it will be similar to that of the Xbox 360. Microsoft are smart by releasing a Windows 8 style dashboard on the 360. At least tens/hundreds of millions of people will already have a great feel for it.

I want to be able to use my own pictures in metro instead of "colors", this isnt 1991, I would like to add pics that move when scrolling..........

I don't remember asking for this, and, I don't remember thinking that I needed it, either.

W8 may have a better interface et all, and may even be some minor percentile faster under some circumstances, but I really do not think I'll need it.

All I really see is a company that need a tablet/portable OS that has a store-front to maintain market position, or even gain a few points.

If this had something that needed my attention, it would get it, but I really do not see it.

Something to tinker with over the summer months... nothing wrong with testing it out, but I while I plan on learning it's quirks so that I can better fix the computers that people bring to me, I doubt I'll be switching any of my personal systems over to it any time soon.

I'll be upgrading only if the performance is noteworthy compared to windows 7. Currently I have 0 issues with any of my installs (knocks on wood xD)

Would make more sense, since not everyone is gonna fork out money for a "touchscreen" interface. There is no point in having one if you cannot use it and enjoy the experience.
