Updated winrar can extract the files just fine for me.
I managed to download the driver from ************ and already tryed bf3 in windows 8.
Installer working fine (CCC+Driver) installed automatically not like 12.4 that need manual driver installation.
Performance its the same as 12.4 march15 for me.

Caps are newer only by date, 12.3 cap1 have a lot more stuff inside, you can tell that just by the filesize.

Just as I was losing my patience with ATI this driver comes along. So far no problems. 7970 xfire good in BF3, no 2d clock issue yet. Going to try W8 now.

No, leaked.

that may or may not mean anything, as the missing stuff could have been fixed in the driver itself.

Wouldn't the full version number work as to compare although I always thought the application profiles were trimmed down when the fixes therein got included into the actual drivers.
EDIT: Yeah it has a newer version number but what do I know.
(12.3 CAP1 is called 2.0.4469.34733 and this one is 2.0.4491.38420 and there's just 7 KB difference in installed size reported but again what do I know.)

Ok after a bit of testing I can say the following:
IQ is great, the same as the last few drivers.
BF3 performs really well with this set too!
Idle Clocks are fixed for me, second GPU finally is really idle when it should be
Crysis 2 and Rage run nicely too
but they still did not fix Skyrim's crossfire flickering for me.
Yet I'm happy about this drivers as it won't burn my GPU and at least I can play BF3 in higher settings

I tried it with tri-fire 7970's...no bug or anything else...but still no performance in Crysis2!!!
What's up ATI?
I'm running three 7970''s and I just have as much FPS as I'm running one card...crossfire with two cards runs great, but with thre it's more than poor...every other game like Metro, Far-Cry, F1 2011...are running great...just crysis2 and BF3 are bad. BF3 is not that bad as Crysis2 is, but it's not as good as with two cards!

Idle bug is looking to come from Firefox acceleration. ( not tested with other browser ).. FF settings > advanced > disable acceleration.
its not flash, it will pop up at the moment FF is running.

Installed fine, now got the activity dial back in the Overdrive (never had it since i popped the 7970 in, so thought it had been removed), and had to redo my contrast/brightness in the Digital Flat Panel bit, as they got reset back to default, will give them a test now.

Anyone else having trouble getting this to install?
I was running the 12.4 and first did a upgrade over them, but they stalled right after the selecting the components screen. Pops up the Installing Components, with the Overall Progress bars and the bottoms bar fills and then just stalls. Cycles the lower picture, but nothing happens.
Tried uninstalling the 12.4 and going through the standard uninstall procedure (Drivercleaner/Reboot/CCCleaner/Etc). Then installing them (the 8.97s) fresh. Same problem.
Did the whole uninstall, clean, and then re-install of the 12.3, then upgrade. Same thing.
Uggh. I never had any problems with installing any Catalyst drivers with my 5770, 6870, or 6950. But with the new 7950 it has been one headache after another getting any driver to install.
Trying again, just sitting here watching it roll through its little pictures on the bottom as the install progress bar sits there, doing nothing.
Bugger
Bats
Edit: And success! It took it 15 minutes to process, but it got off its a** and continued to install. Keep going baby, don't crap out on me now!
Jesus, that took 30 minutes to process all the files and install the driver. What the hey? All, well installed now. Seems to be fine. Gonna run the normal benches and see what shakes out.

Currently running 12.3 on my 7690m. Installed this driver and tried playing Bf3, the game was laggy and unplayable. Rolled back the driver and the game ran smooth. So my laptop didn't like this driver for some reason.
