DX9E is sort of the DirectX9 Vista and Windows 7 relies upon isn't it?
Not much of a upgrade as far as I'm aware though it's compatible with those OS's although I'm probably missing on what else it provides, don't know the specific details.
As for the game I really liked X-Blades (Which seems that not many others did.) got my key yesterday via YuPlay (25% discount.) but had it removed nearly immediately afterwards due to that bug, didn't manage to download the game but from what I've seen it looks quite nice.
(Was on the X360 and PS3 earlier.)

Good afternoon,
There was a totally unexpected confusion with the Blades of Time distribution files, currently available in Steam, which are of an old version, most likely to be stuck during the first level.
Therefore its keys were removed from the shop for selling and will be added as soon as the problem is solved. The correct version should be available with an update coming during 24 hours.
We apologize for the caused troubles and hope for understanding.

Best regards, Ivan

It's not sold directly via Steam yet, currently it's only on sale via YuPlay's service.

I can't get vsync working in this game. D3Doverrider and NVCP won't work.
:S
Great game so far. Great graphics and very smooth animations. I love the finishing moves.
I liked Xblades too but so far this looks like a great game.

There's a demo entry in the Steam .blob file which lists the various titles, although that doesn't really say when or if it'll be released.
Steam also downloaded the correct files a while ago so now it's patched and working as intended, extras for the "limited edition" also downloaded yesterday so I guess now that it's complete they put it up on the Steam page directly instead of just YuPlay though I guess the larger discount is gone.
(Initially YuPlay had a 25% off for pre-orders and then now there's a 10% off during the first week, Steam probably has the same.)
I'm in the desert level currently, puzzles are actually getting a bit more challenging and the combat is also pretty tough now so you have to rely on most abilities and select carefully what to upgrade although everything so far has been and is very helpful.
(I need to find better items though, probably missed some chests already but there's probably better stuff further ahead.)

Steam has the sale. You can get the game + DLC for $35.99. I still havent decided, it's a toss up between this or Borderlands GOTY.

This might seem as an odd request but I bought this game (PC version) but all it does is crash right after the intro.
Luckely the game produces a .dmp file everything it crashes.
Could any of you "read" the .dmp files and tell me what is causing it ?
Blades of Time .dmp files.rar
(I apologise for using Rapidshare, the reasons are that I have a Premium account with them and I dont know any other sites where I can safely store files.
If you want me to upload the .dmp files to another site, I'll be more than happy to do so)
Thanks in advance,

With this game maybe it's best to wait on the demo before deciding, that seems the preferred option currently.
EDIT:

@Darkkiz
I figured out what the crash was.
It's 7.1 sound.
You need to set your sound in windows to 5.1 before launching the game.
I tried it on a hunch.
Works fine after that.
I reinstalled several times trying to figure it out. Turning to 5.1 fixed it first try.

For anyone that loves DMC, this is a great game, awesome combat, great graphics ( better than DMC IV ) and it runs smooth as butter, unfortunately there is no option for vsync, though a patch will likely fix it.
Apparently the game is about 10hrs long. I find it amusing that people complain about it being linear and 10hrs long, even though every hack n slash in memory was about that length. It's standard for the genre. It's also not like the game is $50US.

Thank you so much dchalf10, my 7.1 was indeed causing the crashes.
Finally I can enjoy this game.

There is a VSync option both in the patched and unpatched (or otherwise downloaded) versions of the game though with the non-updated version you have to edit the config file manually.
C:\Users\UserNameHere\AppData\Local\BladesOfTime
(Settings.blk - just open it in any text editor, settings.blk in the game folder is just the defaults, they vary a bit depending on if the game is updated or otherwise, Anti-Aliasing for example is on or off in the unpatched version and has two lines albeit one is bugged and in the patched version it's a low or high value - or disabled - instead.)

I think I'll wait and get this later. I was just looking at my library and noticed i have 18 games and only finished 3 of them.
The funny thing is, I bought L4D and L4D2 over a year ago and still havent played them yet.

i hate the character animation, sorry but I really can't stand games with technical issues like that maybe that's just me, but Konami can definetely do better - ie - compare it to the latest Castlevania for example, now that is a game
