So I installed The Legend of Grimrock, and it ran fine for a few seconds in the menu and suddenly the system reset itself. Tried running it again and it reset even sooner, and upon resetting there was no video.
I've tried everything from unplugging the power cable to swapping the video card between slots, but the video is just dead. POST, however, runs fine up to the boot code (FF on my board's LED POST display). So now I'm trying to figure out if it's fixable (probably not), and whether the problem lies with the motherboard or the video card. I'm leaning towards motherboard because the video card was under no stress, and there was no burnt smell as a VRM blowout produces. Any ideas? |
