Hey Gurus

Been having a little issue with my 7970 Xfire setup.

Whenever I play a game with Xfire enabled I get lots of white lines tearing across the screen which disappear if I alt-tab out to windows. I don't get this if I disable Xfire. Only started happening a few days ago and I have absolutely no idea what causes it.

*EDIT* I'm also getting occasional screen tearing on the desktop, especially when scrolling web pages and watching youtube videos.

Any thoughts on how to fix?

Temps are normal?

Also did you try to over volt on those clocks? Stock voltage should be okay unless you try to pass the 1125/1575 Overdrive limit.

Also what driver are you running now?

Have you tried Catalyst 12.4 Open CL 1.2 Beta drivers? They seem to be the best driver choice for HD 7 series right now.

Monitor drivers installed and up to date?

Also are you on HDMI or DVI-D cables?

As posted above, when you get white artifacts it usually does mean memory clocks are going wacko. Try backing off by 25mhz intervals and see if you still have the issue.

If this doesn't work, try taking the cards out and switching them around. Use your Second card as the primary and vice versa. Maybe you have a bad card...

Good luck!

@onemoar: I've been running these clocks for a month with Xfire on and never had any problems.

@GhostXL:

Temps are 50 idle and about 70 load.

Currently on Driver 12.3, I will download and give 12.4 a go.

Monitor drivers are up to date, attached using DVI full link. I'll try setting the clocks back to stock first, see if that fixes anything.

Watch this space...

Right, chaning clocks back to stock didn't fix it.

Using my other card as primary works fine with Xfire off, but I get green lines instead of white ones with it on. It looks like there's a perfectly clear picture behind the green/white lines.

Updated the drivers. If anything, it's now worse with CF on.
