Interesting for those that want an Aftermarket Cooling solution for their GTX 680 Reference.

Just found an interesting review better 2 Arctic Coolers.

Accelero XTREME Plus 2 vs Accelero TWIN TUBRO II

http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coo...-turbo-ii.html

At 1200 RPM (Which is 40%) there is quite some difference in Heat tho.

My XTREME Plus is always running at 40%.

Seems the Turbo II isn't nearly as effective as the Accellero Xtreme II I have on my 580. I think I'll hold out for something a bit better - maybe a modified Accellero revision for the 680.

Funny how your definition of quiet changes after using the Accellero for a while. I keep reading about how quiet the 680 remains under load, but the fact that I hear it at all is well...noticeable.

Yup...first world problems. Times is hard, I tell ya...times is hard.

I really hear anything. I pick up this frequency other people don't, it can be rather annoying.

I once had a card with Coil Whine, which wasn't loud but i could still hear it. It drove me NUTS!.

I can hear the wind of the Accelero Xtreme Plus fans when i turn it up to 50%. And my PC is underneat my Desk, i just got too good ears -_-

Didn't know that fit.

Ofcourse the mounting holes around the GPU are the same.

Now if MSI just makes a 680 Lightning 4GB we can fit the Extreme III

LOL the Acellero Xtreme Plus is near silent at 12v 2500rpm. I have mine set up to run at 12v full speed all the time. And I can barely hear it. My case fans are silent also, all running at 7v.

Well it's clearly not.

Really all you peeps must be really deaf or have extremely loud Case Fans, or be in denial.

Anyone know if the Accelero Twin Turbo II cooler will work if I have an SLI configuration? My GTX680s get a bit warm in SLI and downclock when they hit 70C, I would like to prevent that if I can.

Been thinking last night about the installation.

I wonder if it's possible to install the Cooler without glueing on the VRM and RAM Heatsinks and use the default Heatspreader after removing the Fan from it.

If you get what i mean

EDIT:

Upon closer inspection it doesn't seem possible sadly enough. Because the default Heatsink falls lower into the Heatspreader.
