Um, complete noob question... what benefits are there of having OpenCL 1.2 and WDDM 1.2 in real terms? Better performance or do games have to be specifically programmed to utilise them?
Any other obvious benefits from these without actually testing them? By that I mean, other features than the above ones.
If it helps, I'm using a 5850 and 5970 on Win7x64, 8.50.5 Feb 24

You probably need to run ipconfig /flushdns in command prompt.

Make sure you did a clean install.
If you used /XCL with AB then run /RCL before uninstalling.
Boot straight to Safe Mode after uninstalling.
Go to Device Manager, uninstall Standard VGA.
Run Driver Sweeper (3.2.0); do not reboot.
Refresh Device Manager, reboot.
I have never installed a set in top of an existing one, and that has served me well.
If you need to OC with AB, you can just copy atipdl64.dll to System32 and atipdlxx.dll to SysWOW64; you can extract them from 12.1 WHQL.
If they're still in .dl_ file type, just use 'Extract Here' on those two files with any of your archiver programs (e.g 7-Zip) in order to properly 'convert' them to working .dll files.
In any case, opening browser with hardware-acceleration support (like IE9 and FF) most likely will also make your clock stays in 3D mode.
Try to minimize the browser window and wait a bit.
If everything's working normally then the clocks should go back to idle clocks.

Skyrim Pixel corruption seems to be fixed (been present in most if not all drivers since 12.1)
BF3 seems to run smoother (may be a placebo effect)
So far so good.

You won't believe but in Ukraine 8 bucks = ~2 month electricity bill (1 kW/h today costs 3 cents), or almost 12 litres of the cheapest beer, or 10 loaves of bread. And I accumulated my money for 4 months to buy 100$ videocard. Our level of life is far lower than yours, and if 8 bucks is nothing for you, for us it means a lot of. The biggest mistake of Steam, Origin and whatever because they do not adapt prices for particular country and in our realites marvelous Portal 2 does not worth buying for 8 bucks.

I'm not sure what the file was. The little prompt telling me that one file had to be redownloaded didn't specify what it was. The game does load and play fine now. Crossfire is also working across all three GPUs. One thing I also did while trying to troubleshoot this was to enable WinXP compatability mode on portal2.exe. Did this at the same time I verified the game cache integrity. Disabled it and the game still played fine. Perhaps it just needed to run once in capatability mode and then plays fine afterwards without it. It's worth a shot I suppose.

are you guys with the clock problems using Afterburner? youll need to uninstall it before installing the cat, then reinstall after to stop the sticky clocks.
Also, dont use unofficial mode, use -xcl mode or racerx.
