    More Bad News for Nvidia

Not only is this card now cheaper than the 7970 (which is a good judgement of performance) (499 vs 549 USD)

    Check this out...

    http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer...ed-amds-mid-range-radeon-hd-7870-gpu-compute]

(edit: cant show the leaked benchmarks but theyre out there and not hard to find - wccftec)

Also, we can see some leaked benchmarks, (Tom's) here. This card is designed for 1080p resolutions, if you are going to be running anything higher AMD is the way to go. We still have yet to see formal overclocking performance figures, other than what I have posted earlier. It also seems Nvidia hurts more when AA or AF is being used.

Also it should be obvious that most of the games tested in the leak have a Nvidia Bias, except I am impressed with DIRT 3 results. The percent drop in performance with AA is generally higher than that of a 7970, and at 1080p you most probably will use max AA/AF/MSAA if you are dishing out this much money for a GPU. I dont understand why ultra or max graphics weren't used for Metro 2033.

But also note that the jump from a 6970 to a 7970 (price difference ~249 USD) is much larger than that of a gtx 580 to a 680 (price difference ~99 USD)

It doesn't look like there is a clear and obvious winner, at least not yet. (We will see with overclocking performance when the official reviews are out) .

I do think however, that This card is technically the equivalent to the newer gen gtx 570, and they will release both a gtx 690, (strongest single card - still behind the 7990) and 695 eventually (Which will blow the 7990 away) . We will see how things unfold!

I am glad Nvidia is being aggressive with their pricing, I would like to see a reduction in price for top end GPUs, which has sky-rocketed in recent years.

and i wont believe this thread! well not yet..

p.s the bulldozer thread you did was a nice bit of marketing and info. nothing wrong there.

but really everyone knows the sandybridge was the better option over the bulldozer.

also did you know about this issue?

funnily enough shogun2 was done by amd and yet has issues with bulldozer..

you mean you go make an account on... 15? different forums and post your "reviews", and overclocking sessions, just for the kicks??

if you are that interested in hardware surely you'd post it on your main forum acc
