If you take a look with BGR's previous article that they link in that article, it comes from their sources. They have had outlandish claims before from their sources, so I won't jump on the confirmed train with it yet.
My main concern is that the phone's just absolutely huge, too huge for my liking. If this is true, then it looks really good aside from its size.

Actually, it should be about the same size as a regular 4.5'' phone with a regular sized bezel.
Since the frame is so thin in the Galaxy SIII, it will be around the same size as the HTC Touch HD which has a 4.3'' screen.

Bit too big I think, was hard work convincing my dad that his GS2 wasn't to big. I was convincing him to get the GS3 for his upgrade in November (I get the GS2 then), but no chance if it's that big.

dunno how i feel about ceramic case.
with a plastic case, you drop it and it scratches. with a metal case, you drop it and it dents. with a ceramic case... its probably gonna shatter if you drop it.
plus, nothing officially confirmed from samsung. we know its a quad, but is it gonna be the exynos 4 series where its 4 cores running at 1.5ghz or is it gonna be the exynos 5 series with 2 cores running at 2ghz and 2 cores running in low power low speed mode.
4.8inches should be about right. ive got 5.3inch on my galaxy note, and i think going down to 4.8inch will make portrait mode typing better. but i dont know how i feel about no hardware keys. i dont like losing screen real estate for soft keys, it screws up the scaling of most apps.

agree with that... the fact there's no Bezel (nearly ) on side, + they have extend the screen with just enough place for the mic, the front camera and the sensors, the size of the screen increase, but not so much the phone. ( and seriously i like the idea to have just the screen.... )

Same reason you have more performance in a pc with lower resolutions.
IMHO smartphones are not ready yet for that extreme resolution, gaming and general apps will drain the battery greatly, and the performance loss (at least in gaming) will be noticeable.
On the other hand it will have a gorgeous looking picture.
Even so i think 720p its already overkill for a smartphone (4'' to 5'' screen size)

That picture looks jaw dropping but i cant see those specs being right especially the 1080p screen.
but i'll never buy another samsung product again, my Galaxy S plus is only anygood because of custom roms and rooting otherwise i would of thrown it away a long time ago.

same goes for all the Android phones. While stock roms are fine, custom roms are just so much better. This is not a Samsung issue. Flashing a custom room takes 5 minutes and a few clicks.

The difference in size between the s2 and even a 7" tablet is huge. 4.8" would not be that much bigger. what is it about the s2 size that makes it too big?
