Assassin’s Creed III Will Be Out On October 30
Ubisoft won't even wait a full year to release the next Assassin's Creed, because the next one, Assassin's Creed III, will be out on October 30. The company announced that today during a call with investors, bumping the AC series up from its traditional November release.
Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot says the game will be "the biggest launch in Ubisoft history." He said the game has been in development for three years.
Details are scant about the new game, but Ubisoft has promised that it will star a new protagonist, giving Ezio de Auditore, hero of Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed: Revelations a rest.
You can watch the end of Revelations for some hints about where ACIII might take us. Or you can just read the theories...that lead us to some likely era, everyone's favorite being the American Revolution.

Hope not. Can't get enough of sneaking across rooftops.
The AC series is one the most original game series of the last decade, my opinion.

The AC games have more potential than any other gaming series about right now, as they aren’t restricted by location or time period, and story wise I find fiction based around historical events much more interesting than pure fiction.
It has become a bit of a cash-cow, but why not, each game provides better value for money than most games these days, and the always online DRM has been gone since the second game, so people can’t even complain about that.

Well I cant see much climbing over buildings in revolutionary America. The settlements weren't exactly big, in population, number of buildings or size.

Well, New York City at the time had plenty of buildings, but yeah, it won't be the same.
Imagine AC3 set in medieval Japan. Plenty of buildings, High urban population, samurai swords. It'll be a nice setting.

Looking into it a bit more New York would make a good setting really. it did swap hands from American to British I belove, and back again obviously. It also had a fair sized population about 20 -30 k. Which should be comparable to the populations sown in the older games
edit : Humans are worse than rabbits in 1750 Americas population was about 3 million now its over 300 million.

The original Assassins Creed is the only one in the series I've ever completed. Never completed number two and never bought either Brotherhood or Revelations. They just get made too quickly for me to keep up!

Assassin's Creed II is awesome. A great step up from the first one. Brotherhood and Revelations are okay... but nearly as good as the first two.

There could be huge trees around the settlements, and fortress walls, who knows.
Do we really need heights in AC? In AC1 i mostly walked within the crowd because the archers were pissing me off.
Anyway, REALLY looking forward to this. I hope we can use a tomahawk, like Mel Gibson in Pioneer.
