Common people, this game needs more attention; I believe it will be a unique combination of GTA, Saints Row, Batman Arkham City, Yakuza... I watched several trailers, ingame videos and after these two videos I fell in love and preordered. Hope it's not a repost:

I go through the Steam .blob files about once or twice per week to see if there's anything interesting and today I found this which looks quite promising.

(Also there's a demo entry for the game but it's just a placeholder currently.)

I was hoping it would be like with Skyrim where it's released as a separate part but still for free, I've no idea though as there's very little info about it.
(You can't really see that much information but there's some things of interest that might be found by browsing through the .blob files Steam uses, DLC and upcoming games mostly but they are often masked as "ValveTestApp" so usually you can't find out that much but I still like to poke around.)

We'll see when they do a announcement I guess, same thing for the demo entry I suppose.
(There's a number of those bonus pre-order packs also plus one proper DLC entry but again it doesn't give any info about it.)

GameInformer Sleeping Dogs Hands On

Quote:
The game has a somewhat troubled past. Originally an Activision property, Sleeping Dogs (formerly True Crime 3) was picked up by Square Enix, which dropped the True Crime license. Nonetheless, despite some gameplay quirks, I found myself unwilling to turn off my Xbox and give up playing Sleeping Dogs. The game is a boatload of fun and manages to skillfully combine open world exploration and challenging combat. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the final version.

Game, visually, looked like ass on the commercials I've seen. I hope that hi-res DLC for PC is real.

Looks great, I was holding out to see the reviews before I bought this. I think I may go ahead and prepurchase, a pity I missed the deal Greenmangaming had for this for Ł18.

Simplygames have it for Ł20

Wasn't keen on this as not played any of the previous games, and the adverts i saw ended up annoying me during *** events, but reading up on it i actually think i could like it.

Nice to see more open world games appearing, i was worried for a while there that everything was going to switch to linear.

If that DLC is high res textures i hope its free as texture quality is way down my priority list when it comes to visuals, and i don't think i would pay for them.

Quote:
Square Enix has announced a bonus outfit for Sleeping Dogs players who played Just Cause 2. Upon starting Sleeping Dogs, players with a Just Cause 2 game save on their console or PC will find an exclusive Just Cause 2 clothes set available in their in-game safe house.

The clothes are based on Rico Rodriguez’s outfit and will offer a bonus to players’ action hijack ability, allowing them to perform “stunt-style takeovers” of enemy vehicles from further away. The outfit will be available as soon as the game launches on August 14th.

Sleeping Dogs will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC with a voice cast featuring Emma Stone, Lucy Liu and more. Check out an in-depth look at the game’s mechanics and our Sleeping Dogs wiki guide for more.
If you haven't bought JC2 already, shame on you.

Seems it uses DX11 unless that community manager guy doesn't quite know what he's talking about, nice, more so with the addition of that high-res DLC though that one hasn't been confirmed or even mentioned yet, also seems the pre-load is available now or something as the data leaked a few hours ago.
(But is likely encrypted as normal with Steam.)

I confused them with THQ and Saints Row 3 and it's multitude of DLC initially but it was Square Enix whom is behind this game as publisher, they did a lot of DLC for Just Cause 2 as well but there weren't all that many DLC released since they always bundled a few of them together into packs and sold those, some were also released for free.
